This morning on my walk, I saw a smattering of mushrooms in the field beside the driveway.

Actually, I had to go out early on an errand and when I came home, the field was dotted with white. It was enough to make me pause. I stopped in the driveway and watched, thinking it was egrets because they like to hang around our cows and… uh… eat bugs! But when they didn’t move, I realized it must be mushrooms.

So, even though the temps were rising, I changed into my walking shoes and grabbed my camera. I walked the half-mile back to the mushrooms and had a blast photographing God’s creation.

The mushrooms held their heads high drinking in the dew that had fallen during the night. Photos just don’t do them justice. I don’t know know long they can survive in the heat of the field… the fragile fungi might be gone already. I don’t even know if they’re poisonous or not. I probably wouldn’t dare try them, but still… they were so lovely. So delicate. And, to me, so very pretty this morning.

God’s handiwork is so amazing, isn’t it?

Enjoy!
